CONCEPT
Our client’s brief was to create an outdoor kitchen, and they had the perfect space in their garden to do so. The first step in the design process was to capture all their ideas and then work on creating the perfect outdoor kitchen and dining area.

GROUNDWORKS
The area was cleared and prepared, and the reinforced concrete slab was poured. Once set, it was ready to receive the beautiful handmade Oak frame.

THE BUILD
Having built the air-dried Oak frame in the workshop, the time had come to erect the natural structure onsite.

OUTDOOR KITCHEN STRUCTURE COMPLETE
The stunning air-dried Oak Structure (6m x 4m) was completed, all works were undertaken in house by Generation Timber both in our workshop and onsite. This consisted of the following stages;

- Design Concept (taking the clients ideas and creating the perfect design)

- Groundworks (clearing the area, digging out for the slab buildup, shuttering, hardcore, reinforced mesh and concrete)

- Crafting the air-dried Oak Frame in the workshop (posts, ringbeam, wind braces, cladding)

- Onsite installation (locate the plinth stones, erect the posts, install the ring beam, peg the windbraces and install the stud work)

- Cladding of the build (all cladding was made with air-dried Oak and finished with a moulding designed by the client)

- Installation of the roof, incorporating a skylight (Sawn Larch was used for the rafters)

- Electrical works (client designed lighting was installed with an external fuseboard)

- Site cleared and handed over to the client for many happy memories to be made!
